Communication Styles Worksheet

You spent the past few days exploring the resources available to students at University of Phoenix, and you want to share what you learned with a friend who is interested in enrolling.

Write a 150- to 200-word e-mail to your friend summarizing the resources available to students.

Hello Carmen,

I hope all is well, I enrolled in the University of Phoenix, and I finally completed the orientation Workshop and I couldn’t believe all the resources they have available for me, once you learn how to navigate the Online Learning System it’s really easy to get information. I know you have been thinking of enrolling and you should.
There are multiple Workshops available to teach you how to use the the different resources available the best resource of all to me is the University Library it has all the information you need to write an original academic paper and best off all there is a Online Liberian, another tool they had which was amazing to me is Writepoint seriously it will scan your paper for errors in seconds and show you all the mistakes you made, it’s like the “Paper Police” lol and there is the Center for Writing Excellence too.
The instructors are there when you need them you will always have their Name, number, email address, live chat and Main Forum too to participate in class with other students and of course your Best Friend … Me.

You asked your facilitator to review your e-mail draft. She liked what you wrote and asked you to write a summary to post in the class forum for the other students to read.

Write a 150- to 200-word summary for your class of the resources available to students. Remember to write using an academic tone.

Hello Class,
I would like to share with you the many resources and tools that I have used and learned about here at the University of Phoenix, I hope you will find the information that I am about to share with you useful.

Deciding to attend college online was a challenge by itself, so I am writing this survival guide to help me stay focused and remind myself that attending the University of Phoenix was the best decision that I ever made. This survival guide will allow me to look back on all the things that I have learned and how to apply them to my future classes. When you are taking courses online, there are many things that are different than being in an actual traditional school and certain things are required and/or necessary in order to be successful. Always have a plan of action to help keep you organized and in contact with the way you communicate and study. Be sure to have the right programs and website links on your computer, so that there won’t be any issues in the beginning. Understand that there are many things that are important to learn prior to taking online classes, but perhaps one of the most important things is having general internet skills. A plan of action for obtaining general internet skills is to simply get use to the internet by going on line and teaching yourself how to maneuver through it. The University of Phoenix provides many resources that will help guide you and one of the main ones is The University of Phoenix Library. The library provides many tools such as, Center for Writing Excellence (CWE) in which will help me write my papers in a proper manner and Plagiarism Checker in which will allow me to submit a paper to be checked to determine the amount of work that was my own versus other quotes and verbiage from a known source. It is recommended that you take time to scheme through the university library before starting a course, so that you will get familiar on where to go when you are searching for something.…

The structure for this outline was determined by the experience as a current student attending an online university, a distance learning program. The outline starts from what is expected to be my most important issue from my point-of-view as a student and proceeds with further benefits not only for students but also for instructors. Both can better understand the issues pertaining to distance learning by referring to the outline provided. Benefits are based upon research and technology, but the level of importance is based merely upon personal opinion and experience. Although personal opinion is important, personal experience is the best way to determine the benefits of a distance learning program.…
