The blue book of grammar:
The Comma’s quiz
The comma’s quiz was really helpful. It made me stop and really think about the placement of a comma and why you need it there. I learned a lot by taking the quiz, I saw situations where I wasn’t using enough comma’s and situations where I was using too many.

Affect vs. Effect quiz
I have struggled a lot with the difference between these two words. I never really understood the meaning of each one and when to use which one. On my first attempt of this quiz I did terrible, I got 5 out of 11 questions right. I’m glad I scored low though because it helped me understand the difference. Under each question I got wrong, it gave me tips as to when to use each word. On my second attempt I got 10 out of 11 questions right!

It was such a relief to not have to stress too much about this class because I knew I could work on it when I had time. Throughout crazy weeks, multiple projects and more I never had to spend a great amount of time worrying about turning my papers in. I could create my own schedule which is such a unique thing to find in schools. Also, like I mentioned before, the class gives students a chance to learn more than just where to put a comma. This course teaches self-dependence and that for a good grade all you have to do is complete the work and do your…

The growth and progress undergone by Dubai over the past two decades are undeniably too significant to refute. Denicola (2005) states that the leaders of Dubai have successfully shifted the economic focus of this small, oil-exporting city-state from simple activities such as fishing and gold trading to "tourism, mass communications, shipping, and finance," causing it to become a "stable centre for commerce and tourism." It would also be interesting to note that unlike the 1990s and other components of cities belonging to the United Arab Emirates…

Between 1897 and 1898 two British archeologists, James E. Quibell and Frederick W. This artifact came to be known as the Narmer Palette, or the Great Hierakonpolis Palette and dates back to the beginnings of the Old Kingdom, 31st century BC.
