Great Britain is a nation with a unitary system of government. Great Britain is compromised of England, Wales, and Scotland in the Atlantic Ocean, Irish Sea, North Sea, and the English Channel. Most of Scotland is wild landscape and Britain’s tallest mountains. Most of the people in Wales live near the coast and in the southern valleys. England is a low land country except for the large mountains in the north and southwest.
There are two roles, the head of state being one and the Head of the Nation being the other. Queen Elizabeth II takes this role. She takes on many tasks including The Queen playing a part in State functions in Britain. Parliament must be opened, Orders in Council have to be approved, Acts of Parliament must be signed, and meetings with the Prime Minister must be held. Great Britain has many political parties, the main three being Conservative, Labor and Liberal Democrat
Great Britain is a political union but it is unitary. The smaller countries are basically there to carry out specific activities but the UK sovereign parliament in London and only operate under the acts of the UK parliament, which they can also be taken away.
The purpose of the United Nations is to maintain international peace. The security to safeguard the human rights. They want to keep everything peaceful between the 192 member countries, so there are no wars. Basically to keep peace and harmony through out the world.
There are many different functions in the United Nations some are to mainly keep peace. Also to keep safety among smaller nations, all nations for that matter. The United Nations is also there for helping solve economic, political and social problems through the cooperation of the international nations or states.
The United Nations is also there to promote respect towards the other countries and or states. They do this for human rights. The United Nations prevents World War 1 and World War 2 form happening again because they signed the treaty of Versailles. The UN is used to take military actions against an “aggressor”. Someone who is trying to start up a war with one of the countries or stated in the UN.
