Section 1 – Understand why change happens in a business environment

1. Explain why change happens in a business environment. You should include at least three reasons in your answer.

Change happens in a business environment for a variety of reasons. Those reasons depend on both internal and external factors. For example as internal reasons for change would be the launch of a new product or service that a company is working on . As for external factors one of the external factors would be perhaps a new law that is given and affects directly or indirectly the business and that business needs to make some changes. Another reason for change might be some new technology that will definitely improve and help develop the business such as a new software . There are many factors that are done to help better the business and become more successful. That is why it is important to accept change and co-operate in case changes happen.

Section 2 – Understand the purpose of supporting change in a business environment

1. Identify the main reasons for reviewing working methods, products and / or services in a business environment.

In a business environment things change in the desire to improve and better themselves. That is why the need for change. A smart business will want to think about adapting or slightly changing their services and products so that the customers will not be disappointed . Sometimes businesses need to adapt their products or services to the changing needs of the customers . I believe that in order for a business to be successful it needs to adapt to changes constantly. It is productive for a business to involve its staff in the making of decision because they can come up with new ideas. Theoretically when the business you are working for offers free training on new products or services that they want to bring to the business it should have a positive effect on you because it will help develop skills and your area of expertise rises. As everyone knows knowledge is power so the more you know the better you know how to deal with things. When not accepting change it can be a frustrating process and contribute negatively to your view on your workplace. Stress in a work place is a dangerous environment and should not be encouraged. If you are happy in your work place you can become more productive and creative. Reviewing work methods can improve the way for example you use a program or extend your creativity. It can have a positive or negative effect on you as an individual. You can't be sure that the new reviewed work methods will do wonders but as long as those methods have been previously debated it is safe to safe they are worth to try. Occasionally there may be some changes that need to be applied to services and products and sometimes everything they contain must be replaced. Reviewing work methods can have both positive and negative response from the business and its employees. Some will be more willing to change than others and some just do not see the point of it. I believe as a business you always need to improve your products and services and if possible come up with new ones. 2. When a business is going through change:

a) Describe the different types of support that people may need.

Sometimes when dealing with change people might need support in adapting to changes. A lot of people find changes to be stressful. Successful businesses will know that it is important to retrain your employees to help them be familiar with new equipment or new software that is brought into the business. This training can either be done by someone in the work place or a specialist from outside the work place and paid by the company. Also it is important that the co-workers are supportive with each other and give a hand to someone that is struggling .
