Introduction
In this assignment I will be talking about two organisations, Apple and Barnado’s. I will be talking about the purpose, objective and ownership of both organisations.
Apple Inc. – Public Sector
Purpose: Apples purpose is to provide their customers with the latest technology and gadgets. Apple creates laptops, computers, phones and other products. Apple’s business structure is tall as it has the CEO at the top.
Aims: Apple want to have a large share in the technology market, they want to provide customers with technology products.
Objective: Recently Apple launched their latest iPhone, the iPhone 5s and 5c. Apple usually only launch one phone each year but Apple have decided to launch two iPhone products iPhone 5c being the cheaper model. This shows Apple is aiming to gain a larger share of the market by creating two phones and gain more customers and a larger profit.
Ownership: Public limited company. The public can buy shares in Apple.
Type: Apple is a profitable organisation. Apple is one of the biggest company in their field.
Apple organisation structure

Barnardo’s – Small Organisation
Purpose: Barnado’s purpose is to provide care and support for children that are in a vulnerable state. It is a voluntary organisation, run nationally. The charity interacts with the public by appealing for regular donations. The charities ownership structure is flat as is does not have one owner but instead a board of trustees. Barnardo’s doesn’t fall into the primary or secondary sector as it does not use natural resources neither does it manufacture, instead Barnardo’s falls into the quaternary sector (intellectual activities, scientific research and education)
Aims: Their aim is to raise enough money to cover the costs of paying employees but have money to donate to strive towards what they want to achieve. Protecting vulnerable children.
Objective: Recently Barnado’s has run a campaign to aid south Yorkshire police over child protection. This is a
