Introduction
Newage Garment established in 1984, the company has been successfully exporting formal & dress shirts for over two decades to exacting standards. With 220,000 pieces per month production capacity, fabrics used are numerous and include solid and yarn dyed Cotton, CVC, TC, Poplin, Polyester, Twill and Dobby sourced from local and regional suppliers. Their buyers are happy to lean on them for product development based on a large collection of fabric gathered from their extensive network of suppliers. The 5,000 square meter factory is situated in Dhaka and employs over 1,300 people. The factory has received certification from a number of their buyers who are satisfied with their work practices.

1.1 Origin of the Report:

The Report is originated from our Industrial Relations course teacher Tasnuva Rahman and as it’s an essential part of this course. It gives students an opportunity to know real life situation in a better way. Through this report we have get an opportunity to know that the way of compare the following HR practices with Labor Code 2006 in Newage Garment.

1.2 Objectives:
Broad objective:
The broad objective of preparing this report is to identifying the HR practices with Labor Code 2006 in “Newage Garment.” Specific Objective:
The specific objective of the report is to identifying:- - To identify whether there is any trade union or not - To identify whether they gives the employees full salaries or not - Whether there is any sufficient lighting facility, bonus facility, overtime facility or not - Whether there is any working facility, holiday facility and other facility 1.3 Scope and Limitation:

To prepare the report as our course teacher mentioned the scope of following to compare the HR practices with Labor Code 2006 so we couldn’t exceed the boundary. In the process of building our report, we have encountered some typical difficulties. It’s very difficult to collect all the relevant data because the garments manager don’t want to give us necessary information and Due to time constraints and access limitation, it was not possible for us to get some other data required precisely.

1.4 Sources and methodology:

➢ Primary sources: We have collected primary data from the managers of Newage Garment ltd.

➢ Secondary sources: We have also gathered data about from the company’s own website and brochure.

2.1 History of the Company:
A Newage garment is a leading manufacturer and exporter of woven and knit apparels from Bangladesh with an annual turnover of about 30 million US dollars. Operating for over two decades since 1984, the group is a leader in making dress shirts and high fashion casuals; ladies blouses of most recent craze, and latest branded hot selling high street knitwear products. Its years of existence in this trade are dotted with numerous recognitions of performance of excellence from its buyers.

Newage garment plant uses captive power generation and has an effluent treatment plant for protection of environment. The garments are produced in compliant factories using no child or forced labor, providing workers free child care, and medical assistance. Through the Gulshanara Razzaque Welfare Foundation, their company has supported a school & hospital project with cash donations, logistics, and employee time. The school provides free education for the poor children of the area, with the hospital providing free or subsidized Medicare for people of less developed areas of Bangladesh.
