I. INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the Study

A school named Southwoods School of Cavite, Incorporation was established in 2005 by Ms. Louella Bucayu - A woman with a vision for the future of the young people in Imus City, to see them grow into upstanding and God-fearing citizens. It is located at Alapan, Imus City and currently held within two buildings. This school provides quality yet affordable education for all. In seven years of service, Southwoods continues its quest to strive for excellence and leadership within their community.

The Accounting Department is currently using semi-manual process through the use of Microsoft Excel and written documentation of every business transaction. In enrollment, Southwoods lets you choose two payment options: In Cash or Installment. Installment is divided into four quarters, and is paid during the end of each quarter. After receiving payment, the establishment encodes and saves the information regarding the payment into a single computer using Microsoft Excel, and a written receipt in given to the guardian of the student.

Though encoding and saving in Microsoft Excel is easier than written documentation, searching for a specific line or student in its vast spreadsheet may prove to be tedious and time consuming, lessening time available for more productive activities and such. With no client server system, information is locked within a single computer., and may be dangerous to the files if the computer were to crash or no longer function. Thus the files,...
