The UFO conspiracy theory is one of the many overlapping conspiracy theories which argue that evidence of the reality of unidentified flying objects is being suppressed by the governments of the world. Such theories are often hoaxed, and are backed by little or no evidence, and therefore, are never proven. It commonly argues that Earth’s governments, especially the Government of the United States, are in communication or cooperation with extraterrestrials despite public claims to the contrary. There is a strong possibility that our government is making some sort of deal with these aliens and is allowing them to abduct civilians in exchange for technology or is capturing these UFO’s and reverse engineering them to make similar human technology.
The Roswell incident is commonly used as evidence of the government trying to cover up the existence of UFO’s. it shows how even the government can make a weak and obviously false statement in order to keep knowledge from reaching the public.
On the evening of either July 2 or July 4, 1947 (the various sources disagree) there was a reported explosion sound near Roswell, New Mexico. The press originally reported that a flying saucer had been recovered at a crash site, this report was dismissed by higher military authority, claiming that a “weather balloon” had simply crashed and been recovered.(Hamilton, William III). There have been many claims from alleged witnesses that a flying disk had been found and that the government replaced the evidence from the crash site with parts of a weather balloon. This incident has made the public doubtful of the honesty of our government and people have learned to not believe everything the government tells us. There is clear and consistent evidence to prove the idea of sightings and cover-ups. Therefore, there is a significant difference between the information the U.S. government provides to the public and the actual truth.
