“The Two Brothers” Essay

In the short story “The Two Brothers” by Leo Tolstoy There are two brothers. The younger brother is more of a risk taker; ant the elder brother is more conservative. The younger brother isn’t afraid of what will happen if he doesn’t get happiness. Also the elder brother is more content with what he has now. Both Brothers have pros and cons to their approach to life in the short story “The Two Brothers” by Leo Tolstoy.
The Advantages of the path that the younger brother chooses are many. The first advantage the younger brother gains is he becomes king of a small town. He finds happiness as king of the town. The second advantage the younger brother gains is he acquires many wonderful memories though out his life’s journey. These memories bring great happiness to the younger brother. From choosing this challenging path the younger brother has many advantages he has acquired. The disadvantages of the path that the younger brother chooses are many. The first disadvantage the younger brother gains is that he got conquered when he was king of the small town. This is one of his disadvantages because he probably would have like to be king for a little while longer. The second disadvantage the younger brother gains is that he became a wanderer. This is one of his disadvantages is because he doesn’t have his own house, instead he goes from place to place. There are many cons to the younger brother’s adventurous life style. The advantages of the path that the elder brother chooses are many. The first advantage that the elder brother gains is that he lived in a village and had grown neither rich nor poor. This is an advantage for the elder brother because that he was content with what he had in his life. The second advantage that the elder brother gains is that he didn’t get kick out of a village.
