Since being one of the most intact monuments of Ancient Egypt, the finding of Tutankhamun's tomb by Howard Carter in 1922 is believed to be the utmost significant archaeological discoveries of the century. The treasures found were stored in the following parts of the tomb the Antechamber Annex, and then the Burial Chamber and Treasury. The Ancient Egyptians believed in the afterlife. The customs and beliefs of the Ancient Egyptians called for the preservation of the body and extensive provisions for the after-life which were buried with them in the tomb. These treasures were seen as a continuation of the life of the Pharaoh before his death. It was therefore seen as essential that the favourite items belonging to King Tut would be buried with him in his tomb. Tutankhamun's tomb reveals a great amount about the role and life of the pharaoh, burial customs, religious beliefs and craftsmanship of New Kingdom Egypt. The Chariot of Tutankhamun reveals an excessive amount about the role and life of a pharaoh. The six chariots that Howard Carter discovered in the Tomb of Tutankhamun, nearly all were elaborate vehicles with golden overlays which implies the wealth of New Kingdom Egypt which is said to be used in celebrations or when the king led his forces in battle, named the 'ceremonial chariots'. Contra wise a particular object which is known as the Chariot of Tutankhamun which is found in the Antechamber does not look like any of the other chariots. It does not appear in wall paintings; and it has a simpler and lighter construction. It may have served the young king as a traveling chariot that he would use on the battlefield, or even in hunting expeditions. Evidence of a wheel change in ancient times suggests that Tutankhamun used this chariot. The discovery of the number of Boxes reveals the difference of the social classes in the time period.
