Truancy means the absence of someone to leave school with no reasonable and justifiable reasons (Truancy, 2009). This problem is widely happening in Malaysia. It can be seen especially among primary school children is prevalent, with more than 8,000 cases registered by the Ministry of Education in 2010 and 2009 (New Straits Times, March 30). This issue is considered as the first step into a world of adolescent problems and in a worrying situation. Truancy or absenteeism is related to a student’s lack of achievement and low self-esteem. In fact, truancy is a behaviour that violates school rules and such activity eventually will become the habit of students. For these reasons, truancy should not be taken for granted. Therefore, to reduce and eliminate the problem the Ministry of Education is suggested to take action such as improving creativity of teachers, providing fun and beneficial activities and also encouraging counselling approach.

The Ministry of Education in Malaysia can initiate action to eradicate truancy by improving creativity of teachers. It has agreed that the lack of interest and commitment in studying is the main reason (Liong, 2012). Then, what causes this loss of interest and commitment? (Liong, 2012). Here, Ministry of Education can solve the problem of truancy such as teachers need to be more creative in their teaching methods in order to 'catch' and strengthen the interest of the students. Now with the development and changes children becoming modern than before, teachers need to have more skills than just teaching skills. The rapid growths in the use of the computer and computer-based technologies during the past twenty years have similarly had an impact on the educational system around the world. (Saud et.al., 2010).
