Tropical Paradise
Towering palm trees line the busy street. Mildly the palm trees sway in the refreshing ocean breeze. Soft, white sandy beaches hide behind them. I quicken my pace so I can find the perfect spot to lay my hot pink blanket. Loosely my sandals flop against my heels, kicking up sand as I make my way onto the beach in this tropical paradise. The only colors I see, at this moment, are the turquoise and teal blues of the ocean. Looking out into the horizon the ocean and sky meet almost seamlessly. The sky is clear blue with an occasional white fluffy cloud passing by.
When the crowd arrives, the silky sand will be covered with brilliantly colored blankets, towels and chairs. Enchanting my sight with a large palette of colors. The golden sun is shinning brightly warming all the people and objects below it. For miles all that is visible down the beach are glistening bodies in brightly colored bathing and swim suits. Out in the ocean a sailboat drifts by slowly.
The thunderous sound of the powerful waves crashing down again and again is relaxing and calming in its own way. The laughter of children playing and people chatting fills the crisp air. Crackling heard from above, look up and you will see kites of all shapes, sizes and colors gliding through the sky. Playful screeches and screams as friends splash each other in the clear blue waters.
The fragrance of suntan lotions and oils fill the air with scents of coconut and Shea butter. Appetizing smells from the restaurants that line the street fill the air. Decisions on what to get are hard when you are tempted with an over whelming selection of delicious aromas.
If you dare attempt a walk on the rocks at low tide, watch your footing, they maybe slippery and slimy. Possibly even covered in barnacles or snails which can be painful. If a rock is loose you may disturb a crab hiding under it. If you do slip and fall you may get a taste of the salty ocean.
