Trichomoniasis is found worldwide has been found primarily in women between the ages 16 and 35. Trichomoniasis is a sexual transmitted disease (STD) that is found in both men and women. These symptoms will appear within 28 days after exposure from the infection.
This infection is curable, some treatment can be oral antibiotic called metronidazole (Flagyl). Before taking this doses it is very important to clarify or let the doctor know that you are pregnant so it won’t harm the baby. There are meical creams of gel that you could use to insert on the vagina to treat the infection. You and your partner should be treated at the same time to prevent reinfection and for the infection to spread. Also you should avoid having sex if you haven’t be cured completely. Some side effect could be present such as: nausea, vomiting, headache, metallic taste, and dizziness. You should drink alcohol within 24 or 72 hours.
