No one walks alone and when one is walking on the journey of life just where you start to thank those that joined you, walked beside you, and helped you along the way. Those that I have met and worked with have continuously urged me to write a research, to put my thoughts down on paper, and to share my insights together with the secrets to my continual, positive approach to life and all that life throws at us. So at last, here it is. So, perhaps this research paper will be seen as "thanks" to the tens of thousands of you who have helped make my life what is today. Much of what I have learned over the years came as the result of being a good niece of aunt Mercy in her own ways inspired me. I also have to thank my mom, with whom I have had the pleasure of sharing a stage and working with and whose words, over the years have taught me much about myself and the mysterious ways of life. I also need to thank a wonderful man who changed me completely, and that was Harry - he taught me humility and how to value the lives, thoughts and expressions of others, how to care for and understand their needs. The Almighty Father, above all, for His divine wisdom and consent that made this endeavor possible.

CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

In these competitive times, online business is the door to your success. Business presence online gives you the key. Every small business today needs to connect to people’s needs, to vendors, to partnerships, to opportunities and most of all to your potential customers.

Business on the internet is not really a choice anymore, but has almost become a necessity in today’s marketplace. No company can afford to ignore the fact that online business is now a multi-billion dollar business. Those businesses without an online presence are missing out on a goldmine of potential customers.

Like anything, there are exceptions to the rule and business on the internet may not suit absolutely every business (e.g. junkshop). However, claiming to be the exception is often a disguise for making excuses.

Really is, that some businesses fail to appreciate the revenue potential of online business. Others simply fear change, or put online business in the too hard basket and hope that it will go away. Unfortunately for them, internet is growing every day.

There will come a time when they will lose business, simply because they lack an internet presence. For many businesses, that day had already arrived.
Many companies now are elevating their digital profiles and carve out entrepreneurial niches, more business are to social media and other free digital marketing alternatives.1 __________________________
