Trends In Business Communication
Communication is used on the day to day basis on my job. I work in the public school system and without communication my job would be non-functional. My job requires me to communicate with students on the daily basis. To put out information and make sure that they are retaining the information that isgiven. I am consistently in communication with others teachers and staff. Each grade level has team meetings. These team meetings make sure everyone is teaching the same information. Meetings are also a time to put out pertinent information about events, district meetings, etc.
The current school district I am working for, they have an outstanding communication system. All teachers and staff have their own personal web pages to communicate with the parents. Parents receive a password at the beginning of the school year, so they can go on at any given time to review students grades, comments from teachers, etc. This is a good communication tool for those parents who have access to the Internet. For parents who don’t have Internet access, they can call and leave messages at the office or on the home phones. Most teachers give parents their home or cell phone number at the beginning of the school year. The school district has a website that is update frequently with the latest information. They make sure no one is left out of the loop. The school district also have an excellent emergency phone system in place. The phone system calls house phones and cell phones in emergency situations. This system will not stop calling until they hear a voice. The school district has all its priorities in place when communication with parents and employees.
In a previous school district the communication was terrible. In this particular elementary school, I honestly think that the teachers was running the school.
