But the term means more than simply the Macs and PCs we are familiar with. A computer is, at its most basic, a machine which can take instructions, and perform computations based on those instructions. It is the ability to take instructions - often known as programs - and execute them, which distinguishes a computer from a mechanical calculator. While both are able to make computations, a calculator responds simply to immediate input. In fact, most modern calculators are actually computers, with a number of pre-installed programs to help aid in complex tasks. Computerization is to support Working towards making the system paperless or minimizing the paper work and to provide, give pace to the Business, to create the data base for analysis Fast Reporting & Queries. Computerization describes and contains the following; data may be processed as fast as it can be through its default higher speed and accuracy. Its flexibility can place can place variety of purposes certain fields. Also, the choice of configuration which select the needed requirements that suit to the processes data. It does not suffer from boredom, tiredness or lack of concentration like humans do so that its ability totally increases at high level and performs the calculations the same techniques. Data with enlarge capacity can be stored at a moment. Aside from being storage device, it provides useful data, and makes the decision to manage information. The main advantages of computerizing the activities of business organization are as follows: Computerization helps in processing the data placed in several data files in no time. This is possible due to the high speed of computers for processing data and CPU of the computer works at the speed of electricity which is the highest ever attainable speed. The data processed by the computer are highly accurate and programs written on the system checks and controls data before and during processing which detects invalid data and ensures high degree of accuracy and reliability of output reports. They can be used to provide useful information of management for control and decision making and has lifted the heavy data processing constraint with the manual system and has opened up new avenues for planning, control and data experimentation. Computers can store volumes of data and can retrieve the desired information quickly. This is very useful in the areas like insurance, bank accounts etc where large number of documents is handled every day. Computer facilities the establishment of database. Such a database integrates data records and reduces data redundancy. Reduction in paper work: The use of computers for data processing has helped the management of business organizations to cope with increasing problem of paper handling. The computers have speeded up the process and have eliminated the paper needs through the storage of data in elaborately constructed data bases and files. Nowadays in business, one of the uses of computer is computerization using different databases, by using inventory; it easily counts every products and listing goods and materials available in stock by a business. Using Sales and Inventory it helps to avoid time consuming in making inventories.
