Introduction
Transnational Organized Crime (TOC) can be a threat to all countries across the globe. When TOC escalates, the country’s economic development as well as political independence, the surrounding environment and human security is threatened. No doubt today organised transnational crime have emerged as a new dimension of traditional crime committed by groups and is an alarming challenge for safety of humanity. First of all before moving to identifying Transnational Organised Crime it is important to know what organised crime is. Organised crime can be classified in terms of two or more people being involved in continuing significant illegal activities irrespective of national boundaries and such groups are capable of defending its members, enterprise or profits and to the extent that they may use violence, coercion or corruption (Levi & Maguire 2004 :399).
Transnational organised crime is a crime undertaken by an organisation based in one state but committed in several host countries whose market conditions are favourable. These criminal organisation can be either organised in a professional way and although it is not known as criminal organisation as long as the groups involves in identifying various favourable markets outside its base then the organised group can be regarded as being involved in Transnational criminal activity. TOC can be regarded as the most serious issue firstly because TOC activities can pose a direct threat to the political sovereignty and integrity of the country. TOC can undermine the integrity of individual countries and emulate the authority and power of governments. It can also pose challenge to the social stability of the country.
