The Drive
A quality born with, from basketball stars, to artists the one thing in common between these two vastly different fields is an affinity. They have always known consciously or subconsciously, that they have an affinity for being a basketball star or a world-renowned painter. From the kid in your neighborhood that stayed up till bedtime just to shoot some baskets to the kid who took his time drawing pictures because the drawings were an expression of himself. I have known my affinity since I was 3 years old from sewing up my damaged teddy bears to cleaning up my own injuries, being a surgeon is something I have always wanted correction being a surgeon has been something I have always needed. When I become a surgeon I know I will be complete, I will finally be where I’m supposed to be.
The reason I want to transfer is because I need to plant roots. I believe that this college is the place where I can settle into, a college where I will thrive. As I have come to realize while attending Lewis and Clark, college is a home away from home. If you do not feel comfortable on campus then you will be the one who watches the clock countdown till the hands hit the time signifying the end of class. I believe at this University I will have a home that I will never leave and love, it will always go with me no matter how far I travel. Whether I am doing missionary work with the UPCI or medical missions with Doctors without borders. I will always have the knowledge that the reason I’m a missionary and a doctor is because I went to this University where I felt at home, which caused me to succeed in everything I set forth to do.
The objective I hope to achieve is an outstanding academic career, which will allow me to obtain a degree in biology. I accept that at the moment I do not have a stellar academic profile and that is because of my own doing.
