Executive summary
“Polycorp Ltd” a company that has been in operation for more than 40 years, with a labour force of over 550 at present. It has been functioning on a personnel management system since inception. I have been given the opportunity assist the company ease in to the human resource management era.
Some of the main issues faced by Polycorp such as damage production, wastage, customer complaints, high overheads etc seemed to be pointing towards one main flaw: training needs. Therefore one of the main tasks that I was requested to carry out as an HR executive was to evaluate any training needs and provide a recommendation for what steps need to be taken to bridge any gaps. A challenge I decided to use as my basis for my CCHRM project.
My decision to focus on the film producing division was mainly based on the fact that it was a relatively smaller section in the company that would prove to be an ideal test before rolling out in full scale.
My first objective was to identify the ideal standards of knowledge, skills and attitude required in the section. Next was to match it against the existing level to identify gaps. And finally after careful analysis to provide suitable recommendations to bridge those gaps which were seen.

PolyCorp Ltd is an organisation that deals primarily in the manufacture of plastic and polythene products. Our manufacturing processes can be broadly categorized in to the following areas:
• Injection moulding
• Blow moulding
• Film blowing
• Toothbrush manufacture
• Assembly of flexi tubes
• Pelletizing
