Introduction

The Training and Personal Development Plan has been designed for research students at the University of Leeds. The Plan has two functions:

1) During the course of your research degree you will collect a variety of documents, records and data that relate to you and your experience as a researcher. This document acts as a framework to allow you to store and file this information in a meaningful way.

2) This document can also act as the foundation for a process of Personal Development Planning. In order to maximise our ability, potential and research output – as well as plan best for the future, as researchers we need to have addressed how we develop our own potential. The documentation in this folder will provide some of the tools to allow you do this most effectively.

How you choose to use this document is entirely up to you, as each of us learn and reflect in different ways. Your Department, School or Faculty may have certain practices that you should follow.
