First Draft: Narrative Essay
“Tragedy can be triumph too”
Life is not always easy, often times you have to overcome the bad to get to the good. At the age of 10 my brother was taken away from me, unlike other people, I and my brother Bruce were best friends. Although Bruce and I were 12 years apart we still had one of the tightest bonds a brother and sister could have. Bruce would always play video games with me, walk me to the store, watch movies with me, and sometimes take me along with him to his friends’ house or to run errands.
I remember this day vividly from start to very finish. I was walking around my house trying to find clothes to pick out so I could spend the night at my uncles house. After finally getting everything together I walked into my brother’s room, but he was sleep and often times when he was sleep he didn’t want to be waken. I gave him a kiss on the cheek and said a silent “I love you”, then walked out of his room. Eager to get to my uncle’s house I said bye to my mother, also giving her a hug and kiss and running clear for the door. It was already late when I arrived at my uncle’s house so he told my cousin and i we could play for a bit, watch a movie and go to bed. Around 5 o clock I was woke up by my uncle. I was truly annoyed thinking it was one of his obnoxious rendezvous he likes to take my cousin and I on , and when my cousin asked him “where were we going” he replied “ just put your clothes on”. After getting dressed we got in the car, and later I noticed that we were pulling up in from of my house. I started thinking to myself “why are we pulling up at my front door at 5 in the morning?”
When I went inside, there were tons and tons of family sitting around that I actually thought maybe we were having a family reunion that I hadn’t known about. I was happy to see all of my family so I spoke to everyone and gave out hugs, I had a... [continues]
