Quality is often said to be in the eyes of the beholder, regardless of how unfair it seems customers have the final say concerning the quality of an organization. Within the following text there will be information pertaining to quality and its elements as well as a pioneer who has made a huge impact in reference to quality within the United States. Quality and Elements

According to the text “Quality is a dynamic state associated with products, services, people, processes, and environments that meets or exceeds expectations and helps produce superior value” (Goetsch, Davis, 2010). The dynamic state element brings light to the fact that, what individuals consider quality at a particular point will eventually change, as time moves forward (Goetsch, Davis, 2010). The most critical elements consist of product, services, people, processes, and environments. Quality is applied to all the elements listed above; products and services should remain of good quality, as well the people and processes that provide them and the environment in which they are provided (Goetsch, Davis, 2010). Total Quality attempts to continuously increase the competiveness by forever working to improve the quality of products, services, people, processes, and environments. The key elements of total quality consist of strategically based, customer focus, obsession with quality, scientific approach, long-term commitment, teamwork, continual process improvement, education and training, freedom control, unity of purpose, and employee involvement and empowerment (Goetsch, Davis, 2010).

The Strategic base element states that the company would need to have a mission, vision, broad objectives and activities that must be completed to achieve the broad objectives (Goetsch, Davis, 2010). Being customer focused is considered externally and internally....
