Topic: People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation, increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Essay:
Nowadays, almost everybody attends college or university after studying in high schools, and though each person has a different reason, but I think the main and the most popular reason is that they everyone wants to have career preparations. In university or college, they people will haveget career preparations, including useful experiences and deep knowledge about the professions they will work at in after they graduate schools. Few people can have good jobs now if they do not have university degrees.

The first thing they will have when studying in university is experiences. For example, my cousin is a university student and she is studying in England now. When she was at home, she lived with her parents but she has to live with two other students now. She has to arrange everything by herself, spend money reasonably, manage time well to study and work, do almost everything by herself, and work and live with strangers. She has gained many experiences since she studied at university.

Second, the thing that one cannot lack to have a good job is knowledge and universities are where people gain knowledge about the professions they will work at in in the future. For example, my uncle had wanted to be an engineer since he was little. He had learned and read about engineering by himself but not until he went to university did he had have a deep and clear understand ing clearly about engineering. University is the place where he was taught much about engineering. Now, he is an engineer and he is havinghas a good job with a high salary.

In conclusion, I think people attend college or university mainly because they want to have career preparations, including both experiences and knowledge. [continues]
