The novel To Kill a Mockingbird explores many themes. Four themes in the novel are outlined in the article titled, “Universal Values: The Enduring Legacy of To Kill A Mockingbird” by Wayne Flynt. This article is posted in the course material folder AND MUST BE READ PRIOR TO COMPLETING THIS ASSIGNMENT.
In an essay of no less than 450 words, choose the ONE theme that Dr. Flynt outlines in his article that YOU feel was the most important theme TO YOU as you read the novel.
In the introductory paragraph, I want you to give a brief summary of the novel. This should be in your own words; you do not need to cite anything from the novel. You MUST give the source information of the novel in your first paragraph right after your first reference of the novel, (Lee, Harper. To Kill a Mockingbird. In your second body paragraph, explain HOW this theme affected you as you read the novel. Again, you MUST use specific examples and references from the novel to support your explanation.
