Its time to junk junk food
Tired, crabby, or unfocused in class? Perhaps it’s the food you are eating. The excessive intake of junk food and the lack of healthy food has recently become a serious problem among people. There are many reasons to get rid out of junk food and replace it by a good healthy diet. Although many people believe that junk food is more tasty than healthy ones and provide the body with energy, it contributes in obesity and leads to addiction.
Fast food is a major reason for obesity and other health problems. A research on causes of obesity done by the medical center in Beirut has revealed that about 32% of youth are overweight and 72% are unfit. The junk food offered by public cafeterias contributes in this unacceptable problem. Such food contain high quantities of fats and lipids which are actually difficult to get digested. One can of soda contains a minimum of 12 spoons of sugar. Many of these cans and other junk food are available for low prices. This definitely increase the rate of consumption on such food for children in specific. This excessive intake of fats make them unable to get digested and thus get stored somewhere else in the body. They may also contribute in other diseases because undigested fats are more likely to deposit in the blood vessels and thus narrowing them and blocking the circulation of blood. This would definitely lead to serious health problems, and most probably death. In short, the impacts of junk food can be fatal.
Another harmful impact of junk food is addiction. These junk food contain different materials that make the body totally dependent on it to function. For example fast food contain fatty acids. When the consumption of fatty acids increases the body starts to depend on these acids to function normally. Once these materials are absent the body becomes unable to function properly.
