Time Management Skills
Priorities
1. Family
2. Work

The most important thing is family so of course this is the number one priority every day. Tending to the needs of my family is a must daily. I have to check on my mother everyday and pick my daughter up from school. You have doctor appointments and other things that are a must on some days.
I work twelve hour days, so of course the days that I work I do not have a lot of time to do much. I have a schedule for sleeping, cleaning and cooking. I go to work at 7 p.m. and I get off at 7 a.m.
I devote 2.5 hours a day to attending my classes. I study and work on my assignments on my days off.
Support Group
My family and friends have been very supportive of me returning to school. My daughter helps me with my assignments. I ask her opinion on my papers. She has also helped me at the beginning when I could not get the navigating thru the classes.
My sisters have step in and helped me to pick my daughter up from school and taking her to work.
Friends call on a regular basis to see how well the classes are going and to see if I need things. To see if I need to take a break and wind down. Or if I want to talk about how classes are going. My cousin helps me stay focus and on track with encouraging words and advice.
Everyone lets me know everyday how proud they are that I am finally doing what I have wanted to do for a very longtime.
Backup Plan
My sister has three computers at her house that are equipped with the software I need to attend my classes. My daughter also has a computer at her apartment that is equipped with the software that I need to attend my classes. If all those fail I can go to the public library.
Tracking My Assignments and Due Dates
I use the course calendar and the syllabus to keep track of my assignments and when they are due. As I complete a discussion question, participation and assignment I mark it off of the calendar. That way I know what I have... [continues]
