Appendix A: Final Project Overview and Timeline Week 9 Com 155 Home School vs Public School There are several reasons that parents take their children out of the Public Education System, since the Supreme Court banned God from our school system and prayer was stopped. When the Government separated from the Church it caused some students to never hear of God, given evolution as their only option. In just seven years, the number of children who are home schooled has increased from 340,000 children to 1.7 million children. Home Schooling has only been in existence for 150 years, some people believe that the popularity of home schooling began when the Government took the Bible out of the public education system and separated God from Government. When the Supreme Court banned God and prayer out of the public school system, SAT scores plummeted, teen pregnancies, teen suicides, teen alcohol and drug abuse, and illiteracy rates increased tremendously. The public education system has been in existence for 360 years and counting, and yet education in our public schools has been on the down slope for over 20 years now. Public schools have lost all values and biblical morality and this was what our country was founded on. The public school system teaches evolution and nothing about creationism, the Government has taken away our choice and chose to take religion out of the public school system in 1962. (Supreme Court) Over 80 percent of public high school students drink alcohol but are not allowed to have prayer in school. The public schools are overrun with violence and the children carry guns to school, sell illegal drugs and have sex at school. The teachers in the public school system have too many children in one class, which prevents the teachers to spend extra time with the children who need extra help. The choice to home school your children increased in the last 20 years, due to the down fall of the public education system.
