Introduction

Background of the Study
Since ancient times, education has been one of the most important attainments that even live in today's time. For now, education may be valuable to us, in order to get our future ready. And as far as today's life advances, still education is attainable through tough measures called teaching. English is one of the many subjects that are thought to students at all levels. The English language, dubbed as the universal language, help us to understand and communicate through various method to various people. Almost all people learn the language as a means of communication to people around the world, English language also helps as an easier method for us to apply and improve our daily living. The English language is composed of many sub-components and all help for the better understanding of the language. Mathematics is known since the ancient times, first revolving to counting mediums and things, Mathematics, evolved efficiently to more complex, better topics that range from Arithmetic to Trigonometry that first is derived from the simple counting start. Even though many may say that this subject is compressively hard to understand, it is an invaluable asset to people studying even various aspects.

In this order, the researchers plan to take a deep understanding about this topics and determine the relationship of the two subjects in the performance of selected students in the Junior Basic Education Curriculum for the School Year 2012- 2013.

Statement of the Problem
This study, in particular, aims to determine the relationship between the performance of Junior Basic Curriculum students in English and Mathematics subjects. The study further attempts to answer the following questions: a. What is the Academic performance of the selected Junior Basic Education Curriculum students of Zamboanga del Sur National High School in English? b. What is the Academic performance of the selected Junior Basic Education Curriculum students of Zamboanga del Sur National High School in Mathematics? c. Is there a significant relationship on the Academic performance of the selected Junior Basic Education Curriculum students in English and Mathematics?

Hypothesis
The level of significance is set to 0.05 level of significance. Ho: There is no significant relationship on the Academic Performance of the selected Junior Basic Education Curriculum students in English and Mathematics. Ha: There is a significant relationship on the Academic...
