Abstract This paper seeks to compare and contrast the motivational factors, both extrinsic and intrinsic, which affect the perception of job satisfaction by single and married female employees in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry. The study likewise identified the motivational factors and used the same in the survey to gauge the difference in the level of job satisfaction of the female respondents based on differential civil status. The study also attempted to examine the relationship of demographic variables such as age, length employment to their current company, presence of dependents (children or relatives), and the availability of financial support from the spouse of married female employee, to the job satisfaction of the participants in the survey. Frequency tables that are tables of counts (or percentages) where each cell value represents the number of respondents in that cell were used in the study to provide information on demographic variables. The results of the study showed that both single and married female employees have high level of satisfaction and both are more satisfied with the extrinsic factors identified in this study. The civil status of the respondents does not yield significant effect on the perception of job satisfaction.
