2. It is inadequate for psychologist because, it limits the number and kinds of behavior considered as aspects of personality and it caries the absurd implication that some individuals biologically bases temperament traits are completely lacking of personality.
3. Science is a systematized body of knowledge based on facts. It is an enterprise concerned with the description, explanation, prediction, and control of events. Psychologist use the scientific method to study individual differences because they believe it is the most effective way to gather accurate information about personality functioning.
4. Experimental method for studying cause-and-effect relationship between variables. It involves the manipulation of independent variables and dependent variables. This permits more accurate assessment of the effects of independent variable manipulation on the dependent variable. The variables are actively manipulated. If a study is conducted, with such participants involved, there must be an informed consent before taking the experiment. After which, the participants must undergo a debriefing session immediately following the experimental session
Correlational method expresses the direction and size of the relationship by a statistical device called correlation coefficient. The size of the correlation indicated the degree of the relationship between two variables. Hence, the correlation coefficient does not provide us any information about which variable causes the other.
