Biology is so diverse that it has many of its own theories; Evolution by Natural Selection, Inheritance, Cells, Biological Classification, Bioenergetics, Homeostasis, and Ecosystems. All of these theories have been tested scientifically by many scientists.

Evolution by Natural Selection: the explanation of all living things, both the species and mechanism for which it changes.

Inheritance: the traits and characteristics of genes passed from parents to offspring.

Cells: the theory in which all organisms are composed of cells and that all cells come from pre-existing cells.

Biological Classification: organizing organisms and species by evolutionary similarities.

Bioenergetics: the energy that powers life and the principle of chemical reactions in cells (metabolism).

Homeostasis: the study of physiology and how different organisms have evolved and maintained a constant internal environment.

Ecosystems: how organisms interact with each other and with their environment. Organisms do not exist alone and are part of communities comprising of many different living things.

Bioenergetics is being used in therapy today. It involves psychotherapy, relaxing techniques, and touch that relieve muscle tension. Scientific evidence support claims that it is effective in treating cancer as well as being a useful relaxation method. This therapy involves gentle body movement, deep breathing exercises, massage, and the release of emotional memories. It also contains aspects of traditional Chinese medicine such as herbal medicines, biofeedback, homeopathy, acupuncture and nutrition.
