It's about hanging on during a very bumpy ride.” It is a transition period to adulthood which filled by intense feeling towards new changes. Although many adolescents consider this period as their happiest, it also the most critical part of their lives. This is because it determines the future of the adolescent. Therefore, both a right conscience and mindset are needed to cope with this the dynamic period of life.
Adolescence starts when puberty, a stage in which teenagers are capable of sex reproduction, is experienced by a teenager. In this stage, teenagers who are maturing constantly experience mixed emotions. This can lead them to some undesirable cases. However, during adolescence, one experiences more freedom, the spirit of youth, and the physical condition of a newly grown teenager. It is these three features that leave a colorful and unforgettable memory in an adolescent. There are five areas that adolescence will go through: the search for dignity, the desire for love and to be loved, a time of enjoyment, a sense of achievement and a period of depression.
Usually, teenagers find their dignity based on their environment, especially friends. Most teenagers nowadays get their dignity wrongly. For instance, they follow the latest trends such as fashion, gadgets, and joining a prestigious group in a school or college. On the other hand, there are teenagers who understand the true meaning of dignity. This type of dignity is earned by those who work hard for it; one’s richness and popularity. Instead, these individuals spend their adolescence to pursue their ambition and do things which bring benefit as well as pleasure. As Aristotle, a well-known Greek Philosopher said, “Dignity does not consist in possessing honours, but in deserving them.”
