Question: “What is theatre that it can be experimented with”
Theatre is an art form where Actors play out a story or a situation. It can be improvised, or written out previously. Theatre is different depending on where it is performed and to what audience; different countries prefer different styles.
The many different styles usually follow guidelines, take example Realism. The idea of Realistic theatre is to try and make the play / performance as real as possible in reference to the time and age it was written / developed for. You can then stretch theatre all the way to Live Action Role playing Games (L.A.R.P.G). LARPG is designed for games in which you act out your character, usually played in fantasy or fiction storylines you act out your character as you encounter battles, problems or quests.

In most cases when you go to a theatre to watch a performance, the actors and stage play try to catch your attention into the story, so you get engrossed and forget that it is a play. Burtolt Brecht a German play writer of the early 20th century, would often shock his audiences with flashes of light or the characters on stage doing something completely random to bring the audience back to the realization that they are watching a play. At the same time he would often draw the audience in by making a scene turn serious, then going straight back to experimental genre. This type of theatre was labeled experimental because it was different from the original styles.
The methods of experimental theatre are used to provoke an audience to change their opinion on a topic. There are many techniques which can be used in experimental theatre, such as audience participation, sound effects, lighting, placing of the audience, the way in which the stage and physical elements are used and many other techniques.
