of history, heritage, arts and culture. It is nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The Rocky Mountains extend into New Mexico from Colorado. New Mexico is immersed in natural beauty, with an average of 325 days of sunshine and blue sky with the Rio Grande River traveling through it. Joe Walker says, “ The Rocky Mountain vacation is an adventure vacation of your dreams”. The state covers 121,598 square miles making it the fifth largest of the 50 states. Steven Helmly says, “ New Mexico is one the United States that still has open uninhabited land”. Its gross domestic product can’t be matched and it is an agricultural hub. New Mexico is the third producer in the United Sates for crude oil and natural gas. In 2010 New México’s gross domestic product was $96,178 billion. Rick Gonzalez from the New Mexico Oil & Gas Association says “ We are uniting New Mexico's oil and gas industry for the stronger, safer, more efficient and environmentally responsible production of the natural resources enhancing New Mexico's future”. Dairy and cattle ranching are the most important agricultural activities in the state. Nancy Beckman from the Double E. Ranch in Gila, New Mexico says, “You can indulge your Cowboy Spirit with a New Mexico working guest ranch vacation, offering plenty of scenic horseback riding at our ranch”. New Mexico is the home to unforgettable Aztec ruins that is worth the trip to see in the National Monument that is a hugely popular tourist attraction.
