This study examines the actual situation of the aviation industry in Europe in terms of SAP system implementation.
Research was undertaken into the theory of the aviation industry, aviation logistics and importance of SAP system in the industry. There is no doubt that aviation logistics is very complex sophisticated. This study analyses the aviation supply chain and highlights the importance of SAP system in the industry. The research purpose of this study is to gain a deeper understanding of the SAP system implementation within the sector. For this reason the subject was investigated by studying past literature and previous research. Quantitative method of collecting data was chosen and questionnaires and interview were also prepared. Findings are based on questionnaire survey which was sent to experienced professionals working in aviation industry and who have used SAP system in practice. The outcome of this study will be: providing useful information for professional working in logistics in aviation industry. Research conducted by the author has found out that, over 60 % of people consider improved efficiency due to SAP implementation. Nearly ¼ of asked people consider cost reduction as a big outcome of implementation. According to research, nearly 70% of people consider SAP as an important element of the industry. This Project Report proves that after SAP system implementation quality of logistics has improved. Over 80% of asked people consider that logistics quality has increased due to implementation.
