The use of Electronic Bidding Process Platform
The use of Electronic Bidding Process Platform
Introduction
For quite some time in the Nigerian oil and gas industry, the pre-qualification of contractors/ oil services providers was tedious. It was also regarded as money and time consuming. The process and procedure involved was inefficient. Then came the NIPEX Portal (Nigerian Petroleum Exchange Portal) which provided a single electronic platform to enable interactions between the upstream operating companies in the country, suppliers and the Government Petroleum regulatory body (Businessday n.d) . It is a tested technology platform that guarantees speed, process transparency and efficiency. Since its inception in 2005, Nipex it has served as a catalyst for the execution of several transactions for the operating companies and has also, recorded high cost savings from transactions processed through it. We will be looking at its global impact and how it relates to the Project Management perspective.

1.1 Managing Change
Change is one thing that is constant, what we consider trendy today, is outdated tomorrow. Projects are the engines of change within organizations. When you decide that you need something new, or you need something old done in a new way, a project is born. (Christopher n.d.). The use of an online platform for Bid evaluation process is a change from the archaic way of bidding.
1.2 Accessibility
This technological tool has broken the barrier and has made accessibility much easier as well as reaching out to distances far away with just a click and this is an evidence of globalization, saving time, and also meeting up with its multi location demands..

It is a tested technology platform that guarantees speed, process transparency and efficiency. It has made it open for genuine companies to participate fair. Also your submissions are safe cannot be accessed by unauthorized persons

The benefits of using information technology for doing work tasks within a business, and for others, are vast. One such benefit has allowed for better communication between an organisation and others from around the world no matter where they may be. It can actually allow people to visually communicate with each other via devices, such as tablets and mobile phones, and with the use of software on a computer, as if they were sat in front of each other in the same room. It also enables people to search for information easier and quicker via search engines, such as google. Quotes and brochures may be easily sent…

The digital divide is beginning to close. The flow of digital information – through mobile phones, text messaging, and the Internet – is now reaching the world’s masses, even in the poorest countries, bringing with it a revolution in economics, politics, and society. In my opinion, the technological innovation that has had the greatest impact on our lives in this country today would be the mobile telecommunication technology. For the last ten to fifteen years, mobile phones have changed our lives in such a way that no other technological change has before. Earlier, people used to book telephone calls in advance, had to go and use near the telephone booths, or sit beside a physical telephone instrument kept in the drawing room of a house, and attend to, or make calls stuck to a place. Now, people simply carry a 200 gram device in their pockets and can travel the world, always connected to their loved ones and business partners, no matter in whatever remote part of the world they are. (However, in certain countries, mobile coverage does...…
