The Triumph of the Underground Heroes
Since the last decades, all the mayor headlines in journals and television news have to deal with socio-political and economical problems. Moreover, the audience only got interesting when they listen or read an article about new technology because they know that this will contribute to make their life easy .They strongly believed that they need to be successful no matter the consequences, so they forget which things are worthless like values. However, a group of miners in Chile showed the whole world an opposite attitude. They taught us a lesson of life in which their heroism, their underground anecdotes and their rescue demonstrated us that if we worked together, we could overcome any problem that we wanted to.
The most the miner’s heroism was a very interesting fact. It was completely dissimilar from the ones that had been gained through a human battle because in this kind of combats men are struggling against men for economical reasons in order to get power. Nevertheless, the Chileans heroes were fighting against a natural disaster which in my opinion can be more destructive than any existence weapon. They subsisted together and protected themselves as if they were relatives, even though; they didn’t know each other. Some had been working in the mine for several years; others were too young and maybe decided to work there because they needed money. All in all, what really matters to them was that all their partners could live because the saw each other as equals who deserved the same opportunity to continue having a dignity life surrounded by the ones they loved.
Their anecdotes in the mine also cashed our attention. Nobody could believe that a group of people were able to live underground for seventy days.
