Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone. But when it’s right, it’s the most satisfying career path a person can pursuit. We might be thinking what is the suitable path for us to be a successful person in future. Regardless of our definition of success, there are a great number of common characteristics that are shared by successful entrepreneurs. Even if you don't have these characteristics, don't fret. Most can be learned with practice and by developing a positive attitude, especially if you set goals and produce a strategic long term planning.
Entrepreneurship brings the meaning of the willingness to develop , to organize and to manage a business venture along with its risk to in order to make profit and to produce a successful business. There are a few local Malaysian entrepreneurs that are well known in the global business market which are listed by Forbes.
For this task , my partner and I are required to make a research on a successful entrepreneur , from his background , how he succeed in business and also what it takes to become one . we chose to do this assignment on Tan Sri Dato’ Ananda Krishnan or can also be called as T.A.K , extracted from his full name Tatparanandam Ananda Krishnan , the second wealthiest man in South-East Asia behind Robert Kwok , and listed 89th in world rank. The purpose of this task isn’t just only to complete the work given by our lecturer to obtain marks. It is also to broaden our knowledge on one of our country’s most successful entrepreneur. It will strive us to learn from him and be proud of our nation’s outcome. It is also for us to apprehend the fact that every successful person can be from any background. As entrepreneurs take a high risk, and this particular has succeed, it could be an inspiration for students, and all other people, whether poor or rich. Profile and Background of the Entrepreneur
Tan Sri Tatparanandam Ananda Krishnan also known as T.A.K was born in 1938 in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur's "Little India" to Tamil parents, who were Sri Lankan immigrants. Coming from a middle class immigrant family doesn’t stop him to become a person as he is today. A good student with low profile attitude. He studied at Vivekananda Tamil School in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur and furthered his studies at Victoria Institution, Kuala Lumpur. Later, as a Colombo Plan scholar, he attended the University of Melbourne, Australia for his B.A. (Honours) degree majoring in political science. During that time he boarded in the Melbourne suburb of Hawthorn. Krishnan also obtained a Masters in Business Administration at Harvard University, graduating in 1964. He is the entrepreneur’s Maxis Communications company and diversified business interests has made him one of the wealthiest business magnate in Southeast Asia. Ananda shuns public exposure and keeps a low profile compared to his affluent status. The Malaysian tycoon has also topped the news headlines for the controversial telecom deal “Aircel - Maxis”. Starting as an oil trader, Ananda’s first entrepreneurial venture was “Exoil Trading” dealing in oil trading business. After dealing in gambling, stud farming and a cartoons studio, he expanded his business interests to get the biggest holding “Maxis Communications”, Malaysia's prominent cell phone service provider, with more than 11 million subscribers. Currently, his private unit “Usaha Tegas” holds stakes in “Tanjong Public Limited Company” which operates a chain of subsidiaries including power...
