The Reason My Aunt is the Most Influential Person in My Life
Phoenix6 Last summer I stayed with my aunt Susie for the first time. I had never met her a day in my life. My parents sent me to her house for the summer vacation. I was spending my whole summer with her and her family. I had never that was the first time we introduced. At first, I thought that it was going to be my worst vacation ever. I felt embarrassed of living with people I hardly knew and wanted to return home. Days passed and I got to know my aunt better. Every day we woke up early in the morning and went exercising. We packed our bags with water bottles and towels. She told me it was important to stay in shape. She also mentioned people in our family had bad heart failure so it was good to exercise to keep the heart pumping. She told me stories about her student life, about her career, and about life in general. Once she asked me who I wanted to become and what I wanted to achieve in my life. I didn't know what to answer. I never thought about it before. She told me that I should find myself in life and live my life so that in the end I wouldn't regret anything I have done. I said that I didn't know what I want to do. Then she told me that I should do only what's interesting to me. I remember her words, she said: "Don't care about money or prestige of your occupation. Just do what you really love." I started to list things which I loved and began writing them to my diary. The whole summer I spent exploring myself and finally I decided that I want to connect my future with Medical. So, I came to conclusion that I should study in the medical field. But this wasn't all what my aunt helped me to do. She also told me that I should be determined and persistent in achieving my goals. She often said that resolute determination is the truest wisdom. But I think the most important lesson I got from my aunt is to see only positive side in any occasion. One day, we went fishing as a family. But we didn’t catch any fish. I looked at my aunt and her husband; I noticed that both of them were smiling. I wondered why they were smiling as I didn't see any reasons to be happy. Then she said: "We didn't catch any fish, but we had a great time. I don't see any reasons to be unhappy." I admire her attitude to life. She is always grateful to everything she has and is truly happy. Aunt Susie is the person who makes an impact on my life. After that summer vacation I changed my lifestyle and attitude toward life. I used to spend a lot of time in front of a computer or watching T.V. Now I spend more time studying, exercising and going out with my friends. I learned a lot of things which were new to me. I became more serious, optimistic and mature. During the time I spent with her. I also learned that no matter how smart I am or how much I know, there is always more to learn or experience. I'm grateful to her that she helped me to find out who I am and what I want.

We sat there for three hours talking about stories from the past and what problems the world has given us at that…

Every morning was the same, when it was time to go to the bus for school, my father would make us run all the way to the end of the road and when we got off the bus then we had to run all the way home. The great thing about us running together is we pushed each other to do better and made us feel like a team. Four years ago, I decided it was time to change my life. I no longer wanted to live in fear of what tomorrow might bring. The thought of waking up in the middle of the night, clutching my chest, gasping for air, was terrifying enough to keep me from falling asleep in the first place. Heart disease has a strong history within my family, and at the rate I was headed down obesity lane, I was giving it an open invitation. My mother knew this weighed heavily on my mind, as she had a massive heart attack at the young age of 42, so she took me shopping one Friday in September. She purchased my first active wear outfit, as well as, a pair of white and pink Nike tennis shoes. Little did she know that she was creating an exercise monster. Not only did…
