Dear name(s)
I am writing to you to apply for the European Youth Conference in Germany next April. I believe that this project is a fantastic opportunity for any student that is chosen to take part, and that it is of great benefit to education, and helps awareness of European affairs and what we can do now, and in the future, to better opportunities and situations in the EU.
I feel I would be a great attribute to the team of students representing Ireland and PSN, as I am extremely interested in current affairs, am a great team player and love to meet new people. I would like to go on to third level and study in the area of Politics and Communications, so this would be a great experience for me. As I lived in Germany for ten years, and now study it at Leaving Cert Level, I am fluent in the language, which will be of benefit to all of us over the course of the programme. I also study Italian, and have a fair knowledge of the language.
I have a lot of experience in writing papers, essays, analysis and letters as English is my favourite subject in school, and I also do a lot of writing outside of school. I've also written and taken part in debating and thoroughly enjoy doing so. It was also mentioned at the information assembly that we will be putting together Powerpoint presentations, and I could be of help in that area also, as I'm very interested and well-versed in computer programming and IT.
As I only transferred to PSN last year, I also think this would be a great personal experience for myself, as I would get to know students from my year group better and also meet new people from all over the world.
I think this is an amazing opportunity and would like to thank Mr McKenna especially for organising this and giving us fifth years the chance to apply, and the best of luck with the project, whoever you choose to accompany you to Germany.
Hoping to hear from you soon,
