Position paper I believe that Barack Obama is the most qualified candidate to run for the president of the United Sates of America. I believe that his plan of moving forward will indeed move us forward. Obama has interesting views that I agree with, and you should consider them, as did I. The first issue is innovation, more jobs and reviving manufacturing and the auto industry.
Since Obama became president both manufacturing and the auto industry have had a total of 1.5 million new jobs. The second issue is taxes. Taxes are necessary, but no one wants them. Obama plans to cut taxes for every American worker and provide small tax cuts for small businesses. He is also asking the overly wealthy Americans to pay a little bit more in order to pay away our debt. A third issue is to end the war, and bring back our troops from Afghanistan. Obama plans to end the war by 2014 and use half the money that would be spent on the war, and use it for roads, bridges, runways and schools and the other half on paying the deficit. The next issue is energy, which is a big issue now that fossil fuels are running low. Obama plans to put aside oil companies and start investing in cleaner sources, to become a global leader in clean energy. Obama plans to protect our climate by taking steps into cleaner energy including oil, gas, clean coal, wind, solar, biofuels, and nuclear energy. Also creating jobs and businesses, while improving the environment and national security. With schools advancing and new knowledge being obtained, Obama plans to make college more affordable. He plans on doing this by cutting the tuition fee in half. He also plans to establish a college tax credit for the students and families worth up to 10,000 dollars over for years of college. He also plans to enforce the state and local government to improve the quality of teachers, while giving the local and state governments

Obama has proposed the idea of having community college be free in order to increase the number of people to own a degree. Joanne Jacobs writes in her article about free community college that “The White House estimates that this would cost $60 billion for over 10 years” to execute. With our economy in shambles at the moment, this can worsen the economic status of the country, adding to the drastic debt that continuously rises on a daily basis. If Obama creates some sort of promise about tuition being free, then another issue could arise, which is having schools become more crowded than what they already are. States need to spend more money in order to increase the…

To put this debate into context, we offer several observations. First, the resolution is clearly selected in context of Obama’s recent announcements and proposals, therefore, we should debate Obama’s community college plan: free community college for 2 credit years, full-time or part-time and regardless of age, as long as you maintain a 2.5 GPA. Second, Obama’s Initiative expands older programs such as college grants and technical training help.…

Two years of FREE community college! In theory, this sounds like a really good idea, and would give numerous people, who would otherwise not have the option to continue his education, the opportunity to get a good start on his college degree. President Obama has proposed a two year, free community college plan. in his speech given at Pellissippi State College in Knoxville, Tennessee, President Obama stated, a college education should be “as free and universal as high school is today” (Korte). High school is not free. Tax paying citizens pay for children to get a high school education. College should be more affordable for those who wish to pursue a higher education, but the President’s plan will not work; there are too many expenses that would not allow the nation to support every college student who attends a two year college. There are too many questions and concerns about offering two years of free higher education to everyone. College is not for everyone, and certainly will…

As President Barack Obama states, “If you're walking down the right path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you'll make progress.” This quote shows that Obama has an optimistic view on everything and if you keep trying, you will sooner or later have a good outcome. Although many people think of Barack Obama as a negative influence in America, in my opinion he has been a great chief of our country. From a liberal perspective, our President has done an exceptional job with the United States domestic policies, foreign policies, platform and ideas for the future, and his fiscal policy.…
