The pennies are worthless
The time is here for America to get rid of the penny because they’re worthless. Removing the penny won’t hurt charities, American History will not be forgotten and making pennies is a waste of time. You can’t use pennies for a lot of things nowadays. The whole point of having the penny is to spend it, however, the penny itself can’t be spent. Pennies cost more then what they are worth. Yearly it costs the government 134 million dollars to produce 80 million dollars worth of pennies. The U.S had a half penny and when we got rid of that there was no a big catastrophe that a lot of people think would happen if we got rid of the penny. Having pennies in our currency is just a waste of time. Small business owners such as Carl Carreca who owns 17 Pizza Hut franchises in Tennessee and Kentucky, call the penny “ a big pain.” He says when people pay with pennies, it means the pennies have to be counted while other customers wait. Pennies take a lot of time to count, unlike the other bills. The cashier has to count every penny individually and put them in the cash register. Also, the pain isn’t done yet. There is the responsibility of the owner to waste some more time as pennies are put into rolls and taken to the bank. That only adds up to a lot of time and lost of productivity. A final point would be that charities and history wouldn’t be affected. There are other countries that eliminated the penny and showed evidence of the charities not having an important change in donations. President Obama also supports the idea of getting rid of the penny. Surely the penny is a part of the American History and people will always remember president Abraham Lincoln even if we get rid of the penny.
We all understand the penny been worthless why keep it in our currency system in addition many consumers and business owners nationwide are having hard time dealing with the pennies using it and banking them. The pennies take a lot of time from productivity. Many support the idea of eliminating the pennies.

Caught up in our busy lives, Americans tend to take things for granted and fail to appreciate the little things in life. These little things have big meanings, and are much more important than we care to admit. For instance, we often pay little attention to small amounts of currency in the form of coins or more specifically, pennies.. We bustle around cities and schools and workplaces, fishing for cash to purchase a much-needed coffee or snack. Upon arriving to the cash register, we scramble into our wallets for a few pennies to reach the exact price value of our item. This has become a mindless habit, but some people have grown tired of the time wasted by penny-pinchers. However, these grumpy customers fail to recognize the depth…

It is still a mystery to humanity how life was able to come from an abiotic environment since we cannot create life with high tech man-made manipulation. It is hard to truly define life, but some basic characteristics of life include metabolism, reproduction, and adaption. Somehow chemical evolution led to the production of the first living cell which later evolved into more complex organisms. Complex organisms like plants could perform processes to adapt to environment like photosynthesis, respiration, fermentation, and reproduction. Similar to the evolution of life, the penny has advanced and adapted to societies needs with time. From copper to steel, different alloy and metal mixtures were used to create a penny of different composition each time the economy’s needs changed. These nonliving time markers, are typically used by the living to make exact change. This form of currency seems useless since the volume to value ratio is considerably skewed towards volume. Despite their unrecognized importance, pennies have been around just as long as everything in the universe has. The life formed in threshold five branched out and turned into many diverse living things, like us and the under-appreciated…
