The Muslim Leaders Nationalism

Essay 1 Issues twentieth-century Muslim leaders faced in South Asia and North Africa in defining their nationalism were through culture, politically, and intellectually. One issue Muslim leaders faced in defining their nationalism in South Asia and North Africa was through culture as said in documents 1,2,4,5,6. The leaders feared that education could mess with the teaching of Islam and their for be defining or breaking Islamic ways. Muslim leaders also used religion to their advantage by saying that if you were to do this you would be punished or by using scripts or sayings of the Quran to motivate their troops in battle. Another, issue that Muslim leaders had to face in defining nationalism was through political methods as said in documents 2,3,5,6. The leaders politically faced problems with knowledge and whether or not they should be focused more on power and position. Also another political issue they faced was that they were not as well educated or feared they weren’t there for leading themselves to think they wouldn’t be able to handle military power or positions. The last issue Muslim leaders had to face was in defining their nationalism was intellectually, as said in documents 1,2,5,6. Muslim leaders faced problems with intellectualness defining or not following their culture. Also leaders lacked a bit in intellectualness when it came to deciding whether or not they should focus on one subject or focusing on the other. In conclusion, these are the issues Muslim leaders had to face in South Asia and in North Africa in defining their nationalism through cultural, political, and intellectual matters.
