The Lorax THE LORAX by Dr. Seuss is a children's book about greed and destruct. Once-ler realizes that these natural resources could be profitable by making "Thneeds" out of them. He chops down all the trees and pollutes the air and water until nothing was left. The Bar-ba-loots, childlike they sing, hum, and play like children. innocent and defenseless. Once-ler said “And, under the trees, I saw Brown Bar-ba-loots frisking about in their Bar-ba-loot suits as they played in the shade and ate Truffula Fruits.” The Lorax said “Now…thanks to your hacking (Once-ler) my trees to the ground there’s not enough Truffula Fruit to go ‘round. And my poor Bar-ba-loots are getting the crummies because they have gas, and no food, in their tummies!” The animals can’t cause change themselves. The Lorax represents the voice of the environment he nags, shouts and persists in speaking for nature. “Mister!” he said (Lorax) with a saw dusty sneeze, “I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees. I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues. And I’m asking you, sir, at the top of my lungs” he was very upset as he shouted and puffed-“What’s that THING you’ve made out of Truffula tuft?” The Lorax said, “Sir! You are crazy with greed. There is no one on earth who would buy that fool Thneed! When The Lorax drifted away from the polluted mess he left a pile of rocks where he stood, with one word...''Unless''. Despite the efforts of change things don’t change. The Once-ler a character that’s greedy, stubborn selfish and a careless industrialist who realizes that natural resources could be profitable by making "THNEEDS" out of them. Said Once-ler “But those trees! Those trees! Those Truffula Trees!
