Chapter 1: International Business Environment in the geopolitical context

Introduction:

The new international system:
20th century has started with the 1WW and final in 1989 with the fall of the Soviet regime (URSS).
20 years later, an event changes the world, but is a slowly changing.

The main question of this chapter could be in our relations today: Are we in an anarchic system?
  * Order or Disorder?
  * System or Chaos?

A new international system is slowly emerging. There is an opposition between URSS and USA.
It’s a system with multiple poles.
In this system, the process of globalization is growing.
Tight = close relations
The process of globalization is had many impacts (ex: climate…).

Today, we are in a system with is global heterogeneous, with multiple poles.

  I) Asia

  A) China and the world

1989, the year started with the opening of Berlin wall. This was the collapsed of URSS.
In China a reform started abort 10 years earlier. It was started on the leadership of Deng Xiorng (leader of the communist party). That was the loss control of whole China.

There was a lot of protest movement in China, because people were fed up about communist.
The protests of China student in Men place   the army crush this protest movement.
Very few Chinese today blame the government for crushing student (legitimate it).

The internal product of China has been multiples by 11 in ten years.
The country has made few sacrifices. China is the 3rd economic.
The population are proud of (fière de) the huge work they’ve done (Olympic games).
People are still very strong for the party to control 8OO millions of person on the Net and Cell Phones.

Resume:
  * Economy growth
  * Contrast between fratly and strength
  * 1949: revolution in China and to spaces emerge (China communist / Taiwan with USA).
  * This situation is evolving.
Today, China says they are 2 relations in 2 states.
