CASE:
A case is a written account of real or simulated managerial problems, dilemmas & situations calling for solutions. Analysis of cases is an exercise in critical understanding of concepts & causes of problems & events.

UNDERSTANDING THE CASE METHOD
• • A good case study is based on critical management issues faced by organizations. It does not focus on personal dilemmas. The subject matter of case can be used for different purposes. A case can illustrate the principles of effective communication, and it can be used also to demonstrate techniques of sales and marketing. There is no right or wrong answers to the questions raised by a case study. The answers or solutions to the problem it should be logically correct. THEORETICAL CASES
• Theoretical cases refer to the case studies which are meant for reading and clarifying theoretical concepts of a discipline such as management, involving the study of marketing, human relations, communication and so on are the cases of academic studies. FACTUAL CASES
• Factual cases refer to the case studies which describe and illustrate an organizations experience and efforts to overcome different problems and situations which are real cases. These cases are based on facts. They present the critical management issues with full details of facts and figures.

BASED ON INFORMATION: 1. THEORITICAL CASES: Case studies which are meant for reading and clarifying theoretical concepts of a discipline such as management, involving the study of marketing, human relations, communication & so on are known as theoretical case studies. 2. FACTUAL CASES: Case studies which describe and illustrate an organization's experience and efforts to overcome different problems and situations are factual cases.

3. THE CRITICAL INCIDENT: It gives a little background information and usually presents a scenario in which the impact is greater on the interpersonal relationship that is in the organization itself.
