THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND
Theories of Bowlby, Frued and Luwenstein are not linked in determining the emotional conditions of students raised by absent parents.
Significance of the study
Our study aims to reach students who were raised or still being raised by absentee parents. In order to detect and try to solve their issues, it is beneficial to decipher if their present condition applies to the scope and limitation of the study. With the influence of the current trend of the environment, this study is sure to render assistance and clearance to most students today.
Scope and limitation
Our study will focus on the psychological state of our fellow Bedans who were raised or still being raised by absentee parents. It will also identify the mechanisms respondents use and the potential detrimental effects of their issues on their adulthood life. It is limited to 3rd and 4th year Accountancy and Entrepreneurship students of San Beda College during the 1st semester of AY 2012-2013.
Definition of terms
The following terms are operationally defined to provide a better comprehension of the text, to achieve clarity, and to avoid misinterpretation;
Age- this term refers to the range of how old the student is in the population of students of 3rd year and 4th year Accountancy and Entrepreneurial management students of San Beda College during the 1st semester 2012-2013.
Gender – this term refers to the type of the sex of the student in the population of students of 3rd year and 4th year Accountancy and Entrepreneurial management students of San Beda College during the 1st semester 2012-2013. Course – this term refers to the academic course which is offered by San Beda-Manila but is limited to only Entrepreneurial Management and Accountancy students of San Beda College during the 1st semester 2012-2013.
Parents – this refers to students parents who are away they may refer to parents who are dead, workaholics, and parents who are working abroad or OFWs.
Emotional Condition – this term refers to the psychological condition of the student which is because of absentee parents. High – this term refers to the maximum range based on the emotional condition of the student.
High – this term refers to the maximum range based on the emotional condition of the student.
Average – this term refers to the normal range based on the emotional condition of the student.
Low – this term refers to the minimum range based on the emotional condition of the student.
