Interesting Scene #1
When Katniss visits the remains of District 12 it completely shocks the reader. District 12 was the home of Katniss, Peeta, and Gale, and when she is describing the conditions of familiar landmarks your left in disbelief. How can the familiar setting of District 12 be in ruins? We find out that that District 12 was bombed by the Capitol obliterating everything besides the Victor’s Village in which the winners of The Hunger Games reside in when they come back. As she’s walking she cant help but think that she should be held responsible for all of the deaths of the citizens of District 12. Although over 90% of the population was murdered we find out that the credit for those who did survive is to be given mainly to Gale. He led those that he could outside of the fences and into the woods, to a lake that Katniss holds very dear to her. Among the survivors were Katniss’s mother and sister, and they set up a medical area for the wounded. They stayed in the woods for several days until a hovercraft from once thought obliterated District 13 took them to safety.

While on a campaign for the rebellion, Katniss and Gale along with a few others and the camera crew, they make a stop in District 8. At this point Katniss is still contemplating whether or not to take on the role of the MockingJay, which bears the responsibility of basically being the spokesperson for the rebellion. They go into the hospital where the wounded from an earlier bombing were being kept. Katniss is astonished when she see how much reverence they have for her and just how her presence gives them some hope and through all of the pain they are going through they still feel a bit better. When they’re back outside without a moments notice a bomber from the capitol swoops by and attacks the District 8 by surprise where Katniss is hit on her leg. She is ordered to run to a safety bunker, but midway when she realizes that another wave is coming to attack the... [continues]
