14 May 2014

Dear Parents of BFIS High School Students,

The annual High School Prom is on Saturday, April 26, 2014. The prom will be held at La Viblia, at Plaza Rosa dels Vents, 1, 08039 Barcelona. The venue is on the premises of the W Hotel. It will start at 8:30 p.m. and will go until midnight, with a dinner followed by dancing. The cost of the event is 30€ for students Grades 9-11 (Please note that Seniors pay 15€). All high school students are invited to the prom, and anyone who wants to invite an outside guest must have a guest invitation approved by Mr. Fulce prior to the event.

We have the same high expectations of our students at the prom as we do at school. Students are dressing for a celebration, in suits and party dresses, and we expect them to exercise good judgment and respect for all in their choices. There will be a cava toast to the seniors, for those who wish to participate (no other alcohol will be served and students are not allowed to bring their own -- attempts to do so will be regarded seriously, the student would not be allowed to enter, and parents would be notified immediately).

The prom ends at 12:00 a.m. Students will be permitted to depart earlier only according to arrangements they have made with you, their parents, and specified with us. This letter returned to us represents your permission for your son/daughter to participate in this event.

We look forward to a very successful and fun celebration as the year comes to an end. Please contact us with any questions and return the form below, along with payment, by Friday, April 18 at the latest. Payments must be made by contacting the Business Office.

Sincerely,

Tyler Andrews Paul R. Fulce

    Essay On Body Foner

    • 718 Words
    • 3 Pages

Foner reveals how the definition relates to who is entitled to enjoy it or, rather, who is an American. In times of threat to national security, Americans are often willing to sacrifice some degree of personal liberty. This concept is painfully revealed at the present time in the face of Arizona's new illegal immigration policy. Freedom is also an inalienable right of all Americans. In the wake of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Japanese-Americans were denied their freedom and civil and legal rights in the U.S. At the beginning of the nineteenth century, for instance, progressive focused on democratic citizenship and women's advance through the suffrage movement, but at the same time massive disenfranchisement of African Americans in the South and repression of racial unionists and socialists occurred. There are four major categories of tissues in the human body. Each of them separate into even smaller groups with specific structures and functions. The four major types are epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue and cardiac tissue. They are all necessities of the human body and contribute to many functions our bodies and cells carry out in order to survive. Tissues interact and group together to make up organs which then compose systems and the human body all together.…

It has always been a tradition in my High School for a student in the Junior class to write a letter for all the Seniors that are graduating. During the Awarding of Diplomas ceremony, a student would be called to the stage, and read this letter, which was of course, previously approved by the school’s headmistress.…

People cry for endless amounts of reasons: pain, sadness, sickness, and even happiness. In The Body by Stephen King, a motif of crying is used throughout the novella. Teddy is moved to tears when someone insults his father. Chris cries because he realizes he cannot be a hero. Gordie has tears because he ultimately realizes what Chris said about the body is true. In this novella it becomes apparent that the crying motif reveals insights into our major characters.…

    Stresses of Prom

Proms in the Bahamas, despite their glamour, can be very stressful occasions. According to the Random House Webster’s College Dictionary, a prom is “a formal dance held by a high school or college class.” A prom was simply intended to be the end-of-school-year-dance for high school seniors. Instead, it has become a giant monster of extravagant spending, more-than-a-wedding-show-off-party. Prom can be one of the most important events in your high school experience, a special night to look forward to for months beforehand. For some people, though, prom can seem like just another reason to worry and feel stressed out. Even people who are looking forward to it can feel nervous.…

    Preparing for Prom

    • 975 Words
    • 4 Pages

The planning of prom details should begin taking place two months prior to prom. The first thing you should do is begin looking for a dress. Finding the perfect dress can take a very long time, especially since girls tend to be very particular. You should allow yourself plenty of time to find the dress that is perfect for you. This also allows you time to have alterations made to the dress if necessary. After you have found the perfect dress, you should begin your search for the perfect pair of shoes to match. Although the shoes are not near as important as the dress, you should still allow time to browse many different options. Next, you should figure out who you will be attending prom with. There are many different options available when deciding who to go to prom with. Most girls choose to attend prom with a male companion or boyfriend. If that is your choice, you should determine what male you will be going with and ask him to attend with you if he has not already asked you. As mentioned before though, there are other options open to you. Some girls choose to attend prom either by themselves or with friends. This would be the perfect solution if you are just looking to have a fun rather than romance. The final preparation to be made during this time period is what your transportation will be. There are two main forms of transportation used for proms today. Sometimes a big group of…

    Dress and Prom

What is prom? Prom is short for promenade which is a French word. It is a formal black tie dance or event gathering high school students, preferably juniors and seniors. This gives them a chance to interact and socialize with other students, to dance with the person they dreamed of dancing with, to practice proper etiquette and of course to look like ladies and gentlemen. The event is usually held in a big space such as a hall, a ballroom, a banquet hall or any conventional areas. It is beautifully decorated with colored cloths, center pieces, back-drops, wall ornaments and so on, depending on the theme of the event. Not only is the place given the chance to look fantastic but also the students attending the prom. This event gives girls the chance to wear their dazzling gowns and cocktail dresses, and look absolutely stunning. Boys on the other hand, are given the chance to dress classy in there suits and look like real gentlemen. It can be one of the most memorable nights of a teenager’s life, and to get ready for it, there is a lot of organization, preparation and excitement.…

All the ladies were expected to wear long gowns this time and to be honest; I had no idea what I really wanted to wear. Hahahah  I immediately told my mom about it and by then we decided my dress would be designed and made by my very own uncle, Harley Ruedas. Once he was done sketching my gown, I knew I HAD to wear it. I actually had plans on telling my prom partner and buddy, Kirk Sing about it so that we will have matching colours, but it was too late by then cause he had his planned out as well already. Anyways, the whole prom-preparation week was actually hectic for me and my group of friends since we were assigned with the batch retrospection—I know right? It was a hard task to do especially because we had really big plans about it. Doing interviews for the seniors and re-enactments was not easy. AT ALL. We even had to balance our time with cotillion rehearsals, choir practices, editing the promposal videos and even bits of academics! But miraculously, we were able to go through THAT and were ready for the night we were all preparing for. …
