What is a hero? What do you consider is a heroic act?
Every human being in the world is different. No two are born alike. We are individuals that differ from each other, and that is why each and every one of us is special and unique, in our own dissimilar way. However, most people nowadays spend their whole lives searching and copying ‘trends’. They do what everybody does; they like what everybody likes; they think what everybody thinks. But, is that really necessary? Must we conform to the ‘trends’ of an average person? Can we not stray from the norms?

For me, a hero is someone who believes in whatever they do; someone who has confidence in themselves; someone who refuses to conform to the ideologies of society; someone who fully embraces their individuality. They need not be someone special, someone with high IQ or someone with deformities. They might just be an average human being, the average John, like me and you. The only difference between us is their way of thoughts. They do whatever they want to do, not what other people want them to do.

Society has pressured us to be alike, to be indifferent from one another. We begin our lives as creative beings, untouched by society. We have endless imagination and countless reams of creativity. Yet, at a certain age, the promotion of the creative impulse stops. Once a child begins going to school, societal pressures take hold. Those who behave in ways that are unalike are deemed ‘weird’. Being ‘different’ becomes a problem and we are pressured to conform. It is no wonder that we grow up afraid to be different. Imagine one day if every human being is alike. No one is indifferent. Everywhere you look, you see the same thing. Everything you think about is the same as everybody else’s. There is no laughter; happiness is an unfamiliar emotion. Life would be bland and colorless.
